Ladiga Studios was founded by Nate Butler, a Computer Scientist trained at Jacksonville State University with a concentration in Information Assurance. Before launching the studio, he spent five years as a Department of Defense contractor, writing software for the U.S. Air Force, Army, and Marines.

The name comes from the Chief Ladiga Trail, thirty-three miles of old railroad turned into something the community actually uses. The studio operates on the same principle: take something with real value, do the work to make it useful again, and deliver it in a form that lasts.
